Celebrate July 4th in Your Backyard

The long holiday weekend celebrating our nation’s independence is coming up and that means it is time to get organized to host a fun gathering. This year, make the most of your beautiful outdoor space including that refreshing pool and luxury outdoor kitchen and host a festive BBQ.

Before you start issuing invites to your family, friends and neighbors, here’s a few items to consider in advance.

Food Ideas
What is the vibe you want to create at your July 4th party? Food is an easy way to set the stage and create excitement. One of our favorite food themes, and always a crowd-pleaser, is to set up an all-American hot dog bar. Offer a variety of tasty toppings including sauces, relish, pickled vegetables, and more and grill up plenty of hot dogs and sausages to satiate your guests.

Other delicious food items to serve up include cheeseburgers and veggie burgers. Round out the food with yummy fruit salad, plenty of potato chips, coleslaw and other seasonal fixings. Don’t forget thirst-quenching drinks like lemonade and iced tea since it’s most likely going to be hot out!

Activities
From a bike decorating contest to parading, corn hole to darts, the options for summer fun are endless. Whatever you plan, be sure to include a diverse range of activities for guests of all ages. Did we mention water balloons?

For those of you lucky with water features including swimming pools, consider planning a few pool-friendly activities like basketball or a cannonball contest.

Covered Patios
Since July is always hot, a shaded area is key. Whether you have a pergola or need to set up umbrellas, take measures to ensure your guests comfort and set up your backyard space in the most conducive way to create flow.

We hope y’all have a great holiday weekend. We will be waiting for our invite!
